Transition in Time: JHMP to MHP

The Medical Honors Program (MHP) underwent a name change from what was formerly known as the Junior Honors Medical Program (JHMP) due to several reasons. The adoption of a few programmatic changes, one being the creation of a Rural, Urban and Underserved in medicine track, around this time motivated the decision to change the name to mark a new era within the history of the MHP. Additionally, there was a general consensus to omit the term ‘Junior’ to more accurately reflect the rigor, professionalism and maturity required and demonstrated among the cohort.

This has been an amazing experience, being able to connect with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, and we hope you have enjoyed the stories and articles presented within. As we transition into a new stage of our lives, our first year of medical school here, we hope to emulate and grow from the memories and lessons learned within this program.
